Set up, connect, and transfer.

Verified guidance for the current private-testing build of Secreto Hub.

Requirements

  • An Android TV or Google TV device running Android 9 or later.
  • A phone, tablet, or computer with a modern browser.
  • Both devices connected to the same local network.
  • Available storage on the television and any required Android storage permission.

Quick start

  1. Open Secreto Hub on the television.
  2. Select Start receiving.
  3. Scan the displayed QR code with the sending device, or enter the local URL manually in its browser.
  4. Choose one file and keep the browser page open until the transfer is confirmed.
  5. Find the completed file in Download/SecretoHub and in History.

Connection and receiver

Same-network requirement

The browser and television must be on the same local network. Guest Wi-Fi, client isolation, VPN routing, or separate network segments can prevent a connection.

Receiver URL missing

Confirm that the television has an active local network connection, then start or restart the receiver. The URL is available only when Secreto Hub can identify an active local-network address.

Browser cannot connect

Check that the receiver is still running, confirm the address exactly as displayed, and verify that both devices remain on the same network. Try entering the URL manually if QR scanning does not open it.

Restarting the receiver

Stop the receiver in Secreto Hub, then start it again. Reopen the newly displayed local address in the browser.

Sending a file

File not sending

Keep the browser page open, select only one file, and confirm that the receiver remains online. Browser or device policies can restrict access to some file locations.

Large-file considerations

Files larger than 1 GB have been tested, but transfer time and reliability depend on the sending device, television, Wi-Fi, router, file size, available storage, and local conditions. Avoid interrupting the network or closing the browser during the transfer.

Storage and permissions

Storage full

Free space on the television, then retry the transfer. Insufficient-storage handling is included, but Secreto Hub cannot save a file without adequate available storage.

Android 9 storage permission

If Android 9 requests storage permission, allow the permission required to save received files. If it was denied, review Secreto Hub's permissions in Android TV settings before retrying.

File save location

Completed files are saved locally in Download/SecretoHub and appear in the application's History view.

Filenames

Duplicate filename behavior

Secreto Hub includes duplicate filename handling so an incoming file does not silently replace an existing file with the same name. The resulting saved name is managed by the application.

Arabic and international filenames

Arabic and international filenames have been included in private testing. Display and file access can still vary with Android, browser, and filesystem behavior.

Privacy explanation

Files travel over the local network and are not uploaded to SecretoTools-operated cloud storage. The active receiver address is available to devices on the same network, so use Secreto Hub on a trusted network and stop the receiver when it is no longer needed.

Read the complete Privacy Policy.
